Another way of getting there is via Bradenton. There are 2 toll-free bridges connecting the island with the mainland across Sarasota Bay: Manatee Avenue Bridge, if you take State Rd 64 you will get into Holmes Beach. Cortez Bridge, approached from State Rd 684, brings you into Bradenton Beach.

Cortez Beach - is in Bradenton Beach, north of Coquina Beach. One of the nicest on Anna Maria. Its amenities are: free parking, restrooms and showers, picnic tables.
Bradenton Beach - is on the southernmost side of the island. Has great views and tropical trees. No facilities. There is limited parking and access to the beach is from the side streets.
Holmes Beach - the busiest on Anna Maria due to its facilities: beach shop, chair and umbrella rentals, picnic area, restrooms, showers, BBQ pits and tables, playground and lifeguards.
It has outstanding views and a restaurant serving 'all you can eat' pancakes.
Holmes Beach - this one is quiet and located in the residential area and has no facilities. Parking is on side streets. Accessible from 30th, 33rd, 36th, 45th, 65th, 68th, 73rd and 81st streets.
Anna Maria Beach - stretches from Oak Ave. to Sycamore Ave. off Gulf Drive. There no facilities, it is completely unspoilt. Considered one of the best beaches on the Gulf of Mexico. Limited free parking is available on side streets and there is a free parking lot at Spring Ave. and Gulf Drive (1 block away from the beach).
From Anna Maria Beach you can view the most spectacular sunsets on the island. North point of Anna Maria is one of the most secluded beaches on the island. There are views from it on Sunshine Skyway Bridge.
Publix supermarket, many delis, pizza and speciality shops. There are shopping centres: Bayview Plaza in Anna Maria, Holmes Beach Shopping Centre on Marina Drive and Anna Maria Island Centre on East Bay Drive in Holmes Beach.
